Thank you for stopping by my blog today. You can call me Jen, or Jenny, or Jennifer. Or Julie – my sister’s name.
Please make yourself at home. I aim to be as authentic as possible, delivering a blog post once a week. There may be more, there might be less.
I live in Longmont, Colorado, about 10 miles from Boulder and 30 miles north of Denver. I am married to Eric and we have three children, two boys and a girl, all teenagers. Our home sits on an acre with goats, chickens, cats, and a dog. Some of my favorite things to do include: running, drinking coffee and beer, reading, hiking and backpacking, watching movies and Netflix, enjoying my family and friends. I started this blog in the fall of 2014 because I had a lot to say and nowhere to put it.
I am a newborn pastor and church planter. Myself and two others started Left Hand Church in Longmont in March of 2018, an open and affirming, inclusive Christian church. I’m learning how to work outside the home, doing what I absolutely love!
I have experienced frustration with the church and the lack of discussion around hurting people. I believe all are welcome and it is the Christian’s work to be the loving expression of God through Jesus Christ in the world.
I also believe that if we learn how to live loved we can live free from fear, fear of God and fear of others. I hope that wherever you are on the journey you will find this to be a place of generosity. You can read more what this blog is about here.
If you want to be a part of the discussion of what love needs to look like in the world around us, I invite you to stick around and subscribe for my latest posts.
